Missions Weekend

Missions weekend was a great time for fellowship as we became acquainted with the husband and wife team, Efrain Sanchez and Enid Flores from Iglesia Presbiteriana Westminster, E.P.C in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. The theme of the weekend was "Puerto Rico: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow." Efrain and Enid spoke to us about the history of their church and the impact of leaving PCUSA and joining EPC. Their congregation was the first in the Caribbean and Puerto Rico to join the EPC expanding the Florida EPC further south.

  • Friday night, our missionaries discussed the past, and we watched a documentary about Westminster's journey as a church.
  • Saturday, two events were held, a men's breakfast and a women's luncheon, where we learned about the present and God's work in Puerto Rico.
  • Sunday, Efrain and Enid blessed us with a sermon in both English and Spanish. The theme was moving forward toward the future and the hope that others in Puerto Rico will join the EPC. Afterward, we ate and enjoyed the fellowship with our new friends from Puerto Rico.

Below is the documentary that Efrain and Enid shared with us about their dramatic exit from PCUSA.

New Handicap Access Ramp Built

A new handicap access ramp was recently built on the north side of the church. As visitors come into the parking lot facing the church, the ramp will be on the left side. Anyone entering using the ramp will be pleased to see there is plenty of room to maneuver wheelchairs, strollers, walkers, and canes.
